I don't protest I try to correct what I see as wrong. Protesting just makes people feel good and doesn't really change anything.

But I also wonder how many people who protest go out and VOTE? Change will start at the local level and the easiest way to make changes at the local level is to run for office or VOTE for someone who supports your view. And yes I've run for office, didn't win, but I ran.

It's sad that almost 60% of the people didn't vote.

If you don't vote you just voted against everything you stand for.

We did that once, It's called the American Revolutionary War.
Now it's called treason or terrorism. You can't live in a society that has no laws. Protesting is a group function, we have no groups that are even close to being organized. The closest we can come, is Pro choice Vs Pro Life.
Besides, what serious issues do we have to protest? We are represented by a government by the people for the people. We elected our Representatives, didn't we?

What exactly do you think we should be protesting? A little context can go a long way. Without knowing what you want to protest, how can anyone reasonable answer why we aren't?

Well, yes. In today's world, people liking you is a big deal. If the media doesn't protect you, then you face an uphill battle of liberal fascists screaming in your face, disrupting the foundations of civility in our country. Where am I going to stand? We are meek like lambs, preferring to let the aggressors sweep us away. We quiver because the Dems are going to get us. We must pander to keep our seats.

Hm. If I were Muslim, I'd say because our religion insists that we kill the infidels who do not follow our tainted teachings. I would be afraid of myself.

There are some who do but many that don't or won't. I can get 2,000 out to protest bars closing early when the time changes. Maybe a dozen come out to protest this illegal/immoral war. Go figure.

Most people are too apathetic to say anything. As long as the issue does not directly effect their lives they are okay. "Not in my backyard." It bothers me that people care so little about others and about world issues. I am not an activist but I do care and I do see that changes need to be made in our society.

I'm afraid of tasers like the police used on the Iranian American student at UCLA. They fry fish like me.
