When you have ultrasounds/sonagrams all depends on what you doctor does....so in order to know when you will have one, consult your doctor. (You should have one between 16 and 20 weeks.)
When you will begin to show all depends on your body type and how big the fetus is. Only time will tell when you will begin to show.

A routine ultra-sound will be done between the 18th & 20th week. At this stage they can tell the sex and most importantly how well the baby's internal organs are developing.
Those people who had their ultra sounds earlier than this probably have a doctor who has an ultra sound machine right in their office, or their doctor was worried about something & ordered a non-routine ultrasound.
As for when you begin to show more, it depends on the woman & the pregnancy. I am pregnant w/ my 3rd baby & started showing at 8 weeks. My best friend doesn't start showing until she's around 5 or 6 months & she's had 2. So, depending on your body type, you may not really show until your over 1/2 way through your pregnancy.

The "correct" answer about the ultrasound is "ultrasound should only be done when there is a medical indication." Contrary to popular belief it is NOT 100% safe and there are still a number of unknowns about it. You can read some on ultrasounds here:

The reality is most women have one or more (usually more.) I recomend waiting until you are about 20 weeks along. At that point they can usually tell if everything looks within normal limits, where the placenta is, etc. Then don't let them be done any more than absolutely necessary, and only by someone experienced (and with good, up-to-date equipment.)

The uterus is still right at or just below your pubic bone at 10 weeks, and behind your bladder. Most women do not begin to show until about 4 - 5 months, depending on their muscle tone.

Good luck!

Usually around 20 weeks depending on your doc and what your insurance covers. WIth my son I was on medicad and they did not cover an ultrasound in less it was medical required, I was in a car accident and ended up getting 2. With my twins I was spotting at 8 weeks and got one and they were high risk so I got probably 20 total during the 31 weeks I was pregnant.

Check with your doctor and also see what your insurance covers.

I had my first ultrasound at 14 weeks. At this time they cannot tell you if it will be a boy or girl though.
I cannot tell you when you may start to show cause i never did show at all while i was pregnant. I never did have to wear maternity clothes and i only gained 10 pounds and my baby weighed 4lbs, 15.6oz and was 17 inches long. He was and is healthy.
You might not show at all then again you will most likely start showing in your 6 month.

Good luck and congrats

On your first the ultra sound should be between 18-22 weeks (some doctors are different) you should start showing around 5 months.

Ultrasounds depend on your personal history. Usually around 12-14 weeks you will develope a little hard pudge. This is also typically the time for your first ultasound. Trust me i have been preg.4 times.

My first ultra sound was done at 12 weeks and then I had my second done at 20 weeks.
It varies from person to person but you will probably start to show at around 4-5 months.
And also every pregnacny tends to show sooner.
