A young girl (let's say between the ages of 11 and 13 or so) is on her way to water the flowers to her great-great-grandmother's grave. She'd never met her great-great-grandmother, but her mother was busy so she asked her to go water it. She water's it, and goes back home. The next week, she offers to go water it again, keeping to herself the reason why (which is she felt a peculiar presence when she went the last week)...As she goes this time, the grave is gone. Suddenly, all becomes dark. She's horrified, her heart is pounding. Her great-great-grandmother's spirit comes about. This great-great-grandmother's spirit has been posessed by the devil. Throughout the story, she tries to help free her great-great-grandmother's spirit from the devil. You can incorporate any scary images or beings or whatever you like with this. You gotta study Joe Hill. he's written some ghost thoughts that good purchase of people rated as awesome on amazon books .Its said as "twentieth century ghosts". also a special " heart shaped field". which i loved. Its not about outer area yet a spirit that haunts a rock celeb . in case you want deranged psychos, study those authors a million) Jonathan Kellerman 2) Michael Conneley 3) James Patterson.4) those authors above received't disappoint you if you're searching for deranged serial killers that abduct and homicide childrens, or women people to commence a harem, or prostitutes or something both creepy.

OK to me this is really scary.I think a really good short story could be about a math teacher that could read minds. Or maybe giving death a character. Like death coming in a form of wind or coldness or maybe like ice. It could be interesting

try the books scary stories to read in the dark,and scary stories to chill your bones they have lots of short stories in them
