No, it's definitely not the last season. The ratings are very high, and probably the most loyal fan base. The writers actually said on the DVD set that they had sketched out the first 6 seasons. And, based on their podcasts (usually Mondays at 9:00 on the abc site), they make allusions to upcoming episodes & upcoming seasons. (But, of course, they never give anything away).

Lost is definately going on past season 3. The goal of TV shows is to get to at least 100 episdoes so it's cheaper to go into syndication, Lost won't make it there until the beginning of season 5. Plus, the producers and the people at ABC seem to like the idea and it has strong ratings, it'll probably stay on for awhile.

I don't think so. Season 3 continues in Feb. 07'. I think that they will continue to stretch the storyline. They do have a huge fan base and they won't just leave it as it is.

I read that they said they have a lot of ideas to do a few more seasons.

I highly doubt that! It will return in February with more new episodes! They have too many fans and too many secrets to not have another season!!
