The next time you visit Vegas, instead of renting a car, buy a $55 bike at a Vegas Walmart and then sell it or give it away when you leave.

I would not ride on the strip. I would ride on the roads behind the strip. I would lock my bike to a post in the parking garage of the casinos.

Walk or take a taxi to Walmart. Their bikes are pre-assembled. Same with Target.

It's a nice thought, but, you are not going to be able to ride that bike on the strip...The sidewalks are way too crowded and riding a bike on Las Vegas Blvd, "not unless you have a death wish" ..No hotel/casino that I know of has a bike rack...Where are you planning on keeping the bike? I spend a great deal of time in LV and have never seen a bike inside a casino, I can't imagine them allowing a bike to be pushed around the casino floor, which you would have to do to get to your room, at least with 99.9% of hotel rooms in LV...
I'm not trying to be a wet blanket here, just practical...
If you want to be a nice guy, the security guard(elevator) that works the evening shift at Orleans collects toys for needy kids, he's one super nice guy and has been doing this for many years...take a new toy and make a kids Christmas!!
Later: If you're worried about global warming/etc - Ride the bus, $5 a day or $40 for 30 days, it will take you anywhere in the valley...For exercise, use the hotel pool or fitness center...If it were practical and logical for tourists to ride bikes there would be thousands of bikes running around LV...

I live in Las Vegas and I often drive down to the strip. The idea of riding a bike in Vegas is a death wish if you do not know your way around. Especially the strip and surrounding areas. Drivers here are crazy, mostly the taxi drivers. On the strip you also have a lot of tourists who get distracted buy the neon and may miss seeing you (bam...roadkill). Traveling anywhere at night and trying to use a back road short cut could be very dangerous. I would highly advise against this idea unless it's for a trip around Red Rock. Not only that if you shop where are you going to put you finds? It's hard to carry a beer and ride a bike (no drinking and driving). It's way to crowded most of the time to maneuver properly and pedestrians won't get out of the way for a car (hence all the overpasses to cross the streets), what makes you think they will get out of the way of a measly bike?

I think that's a good idea if you have to have a means of transportation in Vegas. As for me thought when I went...I only needed a ride from the airport to the hotel (on the strip). Other than that we just walked up and down the strip...spending most of the time in the hotels. But that cost about $10 each way to have a bus ride from the airport to hotel. Much cheaper than taxi or renting a car. Besides the traffic is so bad there on the strip you could walk (or bike ride) faster down the sidewalk.

Yes, the idea has merrit. l don't think its too practical for
"on the strip" & summers are a bit to hot to enjoy riding a bike.
Your correct, the streets behinds the casino's are better for a bike but your going to have to pay attention to where you park &
lock it. BUT.... my bigger question, would you actually use it?
Are you there long enough or do enough traveling around the strip
or town thats its worth the time & trouble to get a bike?
Good Luck

If you are atheletic, why not.. it's a totally different way to explore. The main question, how to get to WalMart and the bike assembled.

Great idea. This might even be a great business venture! You could make a whopper. You could even sell those little bicycle locks as well. Wonderful idea.
