Its pretty much impossible to buy them or get them online.
Its normally through someone you know who is well connected in the music industry etc. Or someone who works backstage and has the power to give them out!

It's not a stupid question.
Backstage passes are very hard to come by....you really have to know someone who's pretty influencial backstage.
I hope you get them. (may I ask which band you'd like to meet?)
