If you wanted to give your child 10 peices of wisdom, what would they be?

3) There ain't no fair but the State Fair
4) Most of what you worry about will never happen.
5) You can't worry about what others say.
6) You are responsible for your friends, not your relatives.
7) You can't change other people but you can be sure YOU never act like that!
8) Never take a book away from a child.
9) Have all your children before age 30, when you are patient.
10) No good deed goes unpunished, but don't let that stop you!

1. Do what you want to do. Don't rely on me to tell you what you want to do!
2. Have fun. There's nothing wrong with enjoying yourself, even in a guilty "childish" pleasure.
3. Remember your actions influence others. Live peacefully and take others into account.
4. Be honest, it's easier in the long run.
5. People are more fun than toys.
6. Friendships last longer than work.... so don't overwork, it's not actually virtuous.
7. Ask questions, think and reason. Don't take anything for granted.
8. Don't worry.
9. No, really, don't worry.
10. Give your mum chocolate.

(I'm not actually a mum yet... But this is the sort of thing I would tell my child :) )

The Ten Commandments. I can't think of any other piece of advice that could outlast or rise above those commandments and still give one the love and wisdom to live a decent and wealthy life. I couldn't give my own advice... I simply don't have the wisdom to do so.
With the Ten Commandments a man or a woman can find the beautiful and ageless persona of "wisdom" without ever going afoul of life's pains and joys.
