i remember a workout my coach made me do and it helped a tremendous amount. but you kind of have to be competitive to want to do it. we sprinted 100's, with set times that we had to make like it started with 1.40 and went down by like 5 or 10 sec. each time until it was about 1.00. but we had to make each one. it was against other swimmers and if you didn't make it you were out. its kind of a group effort( it makes it fun).
but ne other way is to concentrate on 50 sprints.

I can't think of any specific "drills" to do. You need to do "test" or "Cruise" sets. Find a specific interval that you can do 100s in (one that you can make over and over, but is still challenging). Do sets like 8 to 12x100 on that interval.
Also, trying hypoxic sets wouldn't be a bad idea. This is a pretty old school set, but some still use it. Hypoxic sets build up your lungs, so you won't have to breathe during your race (breathing takes up time) and it gives you a mental edge. Do 4 to 8x 50. On the first 50, take only 3 breaths, on the second 50, take two, on the third, take 1, and on the fourth, take 0. Try to build up.

You can also try the hypoxic sets with just kicking under water.

Finally, you can always stand to improve the small things. Work on your flipturns and STREAMLINE especially. These small things take time and can always stand for improvement.

Some good drills to improve your 100m races are lots of fast sets, and good underwater kicking...ex.10 x 50 each on add a underwater kick in. Some other drills you could use fins(flippers) or paddles.

sprint 25 meters, then 50, then 75,then 100, a 100, 75, 50, 25.....
