they don't like the disturbance on the water

the droplets hit the surface of the water making ripples witch hit the fish like when u tap on the glass when a fish is in the tank and the ripples dont reach them under the bridgebecause it hits the bridge and by the bridge it rains there and the ripples cant reach them under the bridge

I think that fish go under bridges when it rains as they are very sensitive to the sudden and sharp pressure waves caused by raindrops hitting the water.

I've noticed that, and although it seems daft behaviour, it seems to do with disturbance on the surface upsets them.
Possible predators on the starboard bow, captain !
So does driving my boat under a bridge when it is raining.
I wise idea for humans on a boat, so why not the fish, and otters, and heron, and dear knows what else.
No umbrellas.

The Fish are very sensitive to movement.The raindrops hit the surface of the water breaking the surface tension which causes the fish to remain under a shelter where they are not disturbed.

Rain drops cause minor vibrations in the water that upset the fishes electromagnetic fields, thus allowing a preditor to get close without the fish detecting them.

They can detect predators more easily,

The rain drives flying insects under cover, and some fish will follow so they can feed.
