recognizing it is the biggest thing you can do for your recovery. Above is a bipolar forum... there are also questions and answers and it's free.
I know that you can't just "forget about it". It should be treated like a disease like anything else.
There are answers all over the computer. Try this one first. Talk to people who have managed this illness. You're definitely on the right road.

I also have manic depression and I'm doing wonderful, even off my medication after eight years. Learning how to live life with a possitive outlook is the only way to overcome. If you need someone to talk to about these issues feel free to email me.

Also you should take up a sport, keep active. "more than 150 studies show that exercise reduces depression and anxiety. not only is exercise about as effective as drugs, some research suggests it better prevents symptom recurrence. Vigorous exercuse provides a "substantial" mood boost and even a 10 minute walk can stimulate up to two hours of increased well being by raising energy levels and reducing tension.

In a 2002 Gallop survey those who did not exercise were twice as likely to report being "not too happy"

You are not your mind. The mind is your ego who wants to control you. That is why you feel as though you are two people. Pay no attention to your mind. Just watch the thoughts go by but know that you are not those thoughts. Practice loving yourself and sending love to yourself as much as you can especially when you feel the duet. Don't resist the mind/ego just continue about your day as though it has no power over you and you will soon find that you are a unlimited being who does not need the mind/ego and that you can let it go. You will be happier and happier as you do this more and more.
