why are people so mad at the yankees?

they say we buy all our players, but they never mention the ones that we bring up. look at recent history.
1) Derek Jeter
2) Andy Pettite
3) Moriano Rivera
4) Jorge Posada
5) Bernie Williams
6) Alfonso Soriano
7) Chen-Ming Wang
8) Robinson Cano

why are they mad? is it because people actually WANT to see US play that they're so mad. if anyone else had what we had then they would work how we work. if WE were poor then WE would do what THEY do. its a FACT!

They wish they could be as good as The Yankees always are.

There are alot of factors as to why the Yankees envoke so much passionate and 'hatred.'

Recent history includes the perception of buying up every decent free agent on the market ever since King George took the reigns..

The Yankees rich history also makes people either love or hate them.. They have won more championships than any other team, which means they have 'created' more mortal enemies down the road of time..

And the players that have come through the Yankees, Lou Gehrig, Babe Ruth, Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle, et al.. The only perfect game in World Series history pitched by a Yankee..

The Yankees are hated by other fans because they have always been successful (except for the late 60s, early 70s)

And the Yankees strut their tradition, and in some fans eyes, in an arrogant way.. and Yankee fans tend to be 'confident' or again, 'arrogant'

Every country has a professional team that is hated nationally.. In Canada, it's the Montreal Canadians..

I have long since quit worrying what others think. I worry about how the Yankees will do for the year. Forget the trash talking, they are only words where so many are unable to put their money where their mouths are. Nobody else has 26 championships to back them up. The Yankees are committed to winning. Committed to their fans, unlike so many other teams in baseball. Never hear the Yankees are having a firesale. You never hear other owners really complaining. They make a fortune off of revenue sharing and most of those numbers are put up by the big dogs... Yankees, Red Sox, and Mets. Look at this years rating of the world series.... THE LOWEST EVER. The Yankees Red Sox ALCS of 2004 was bigger than the world series this year. What does that tell you? It tells me that they put fannies in the seats and viewers on the tube. So, just say the hell with everyone else and enjoy your team and the game. The Yankees certainly do make baseball what it is today!!!!!!!!

People hate the yankees for the same reasons people hate, Bill Gates, Donald Trump, Mike Bloomberg, and any other obscenely rich person on the earth. Mainly that they have what you want and probably will never get. The yankees and Red sox and Mets can do things in terms of contracts that NO other Teams in Baseball can do on a regular basis. Pickup insanely overbloated contracts, write insanely overbloated contracts, and if/when the contracts dont work out, they can eat it and move on.. in simple terms, in terms of finanacial invelnerabliity the Yankees are at the top of the food chain and despite the BS reasons people like to give for why they hate the yankees, it comes down to the Yankees having more Money than anyone else and, and for all the Assanine moves theyve made since they were created, they have 26 world titles, so it has worked out enough to justify the things theyve done.... AND IT DRIVES PEOPLE BATPOOPS

Say what they want, but honestly, it just comes down to Jealousy. Because for everyone who whines (and it is whining) you would hear nary a PEEP from them if it were THEIR team, and thus the Hipocracy. For every Red sox, Brewer, Royal, Met, Twin, oakland, Cardinal, etc... Fan who says the yankees have baught their titles, all you need to do to shut those people up is remind them of the fact that since George began imputing his nose and insanity into the Freeagency signings of the team, they havent won. The yankees of 96, 98, 99, 00..were not the mercernary team they are now.. the end began with the Signing of Giambi, because George HAD to have him and the ball got rolling in a Decidedly negatve direction and it has continued for the last 6 years. It is nice to see that they arent going to break the Bank trying to sign Barry zito or whoever overated player there is out in Freeagency this year...they need to remember that they won with the likes of Scott Brosius, Tino Martinez, Paul Oneill, Louis Sojo, Chad Curtis, Chili Davis, Joe Girardi, MAriano Duncan, Jim Leyritz, None hall of famers, but all REAL good players and insanely clutch...and then sprinkled in the money guys in Chuck Knoblauch, David Welles, David Cone, John Wetland, etc... you dont need 9 allstars to win.

Before I answer this, let it be known thta I am a Yankee fan.

Even though the Yankees raised those players, they bought everyone else, and everyone else is an incredible amount of money. This includes Gary Sheffield (who will not be missed by us Yankees fans), Bobby Abreu, Johnny Damon, Hideki Matsui, Alex Rodriguez, Jason Giambi, Randy Johnson, Mike Mussina, Carl Pavano, and in the old days, Kevin Brown and Roger Clemens. Already, you have about 150 million dollars of salary per year and no other baseball fan (besides Yankees fans) likes the fact that the Yankees "monopolize" the free agent market and constantly use money to "solve" their problems.

What really burns me up is when people say, "they buy championships; they don't spend their money well (Jayz); they buy players, blah...blah...blah." Well we weren't the ones who just spend a crap load of cash to just talk to a Japanese player.

Everyone who hates the Yankees are just pissed that their teams owner doesn't have the balls to spend money to put a winning or even a competitive team on the field. Yes the Yankees spend alot but they also have home grown talent as well but you have alot of narrow minded people who only pay attention to the players the bring in on big contracts. The difference with other teams (except a few), is that they would have a Jeter and once they were eligible for free agency, they'd lose them because they can't afford to keep them around (ie, Vernon Wells with the Jays).
