I have study guides and pratice booklets; but in all almost all of the test I'm not sure of the symbols * like a up-side down T meant perpendicular* and aside from that the way I'm answering them are wrong. I'm getting shown up. This will matter somehow because they are letting group of students in Middle School take it. I'm falling behind. Any advice?

Also a site with mathematics symbols would help too. Thanks.

That's really all that you can do, is study those books. The SAT is much more difficult than the ACT (which is what I took). Good luck though! Study hard and take it as often as you need to! Also get lots of rest the night before, eat a good breakfast, and concentrate!

The SAT is to measure your ability for college. That means that how you do on it around your junior year will matter. In middle school, aren't you taking the PSAT?

I once had a job tutoring the SAT. It was a bunch of rich kids, (don't confuse that with spoiled kids - none of them were spoiled) who got straight A's at the hardest High Schools in San Antonio. They were not good though under the pressures of an SAT test. The prep company I worked for (similar to Kaplan, or College Test Prep) really helped these kids out alot. Many went on to Harvard, Stanford or Yale instead of state schools.

the best way to deal with your problem is to familiarize yourself with the format of the test.

take a lot of practice tests since there are so many practice books out there, and spend a lot of time reviewing your answers and making sure you don't made the same mistakes twice.
