just dont seem to detect the card, have tried 2 different card and still the same. any ideas would be great

The card probably just needs drivers that aren't included with XP. Just run the CD which came with the card, or download the driver installation files from the manufacturer and run that...

Check if the card is seated on the motherboard correctly then go to drive manager if there a yellow mark on the driver UN install it. try to install driver manually most cards are real tech so go to real tech choice and highlight one it will work. if you got CD with the card install from the CD, that would be the best to do.

Ok heres your answer i done it tons of times same with Multi media drivers and the likes. Now either use your disk that came with it or goto control panel add new hardware. It will list all connected hardware not installed make XP run a check and install it insert disk bang your done :)

not sure but if it is not finding it in the device manager it could be a setting in the bios i.e. disable network card??????

( mine doesn't either)Use the driver that came with the card I have load the driver first and then put the card in.......................
