Is it impossible to meet a celebrity or do you almost have to know someone who knows them?? Maybe such as Reba McEntire?
And if it possible how do you go about doing it?

nothing is impossible sweetie, you just have to be at the right place at the right time, win a contest, write a fan letter, get/buy backstage passes, Reba has a show...try to get a ticket to a taping of her show, and maybe she'll sign some autographs and u may meet her that way. I hope I helped in some way. I dont really know HOW exactly to meet a celeb. and good luck :)

Like someone already said. It's hard but not impossible. I've met lots of celebrities. Everytime a music act comes here that I like, I usually try to hang out near the venue where they are performing and try to catch them when they get on or off their bus. If that don't work, then I try to find out if they are going to be at a radio station for an interview and go there. Also, that celebrity might have an autograph signing some place. So what I suggest is trying to find out where that signing is and get there very early. Like say a few hours before hand cause those lineups can get long. Also, if you decide to go to the venue, I suggest listening to the security they have around there. Be nice and polite to the guards and if they ask you to leave. Leave! most likely if you are mean to security, they'll remember you the next time you're there and you won't be allowed anywhere's near there.
As for Reba... I suggest going to LA and getting tickets to her t.v show. I'm a Reba fan too so if you do do that, let me know how it went.

You have to be in the right place at the right time. For a movie star, the best place to meet them in L.A. For someone like Reba, I would think Nashville would be the most likely place to run into her.
Alot of times they're doing the same things that everyone else is, standing in line at the grocery, Starbucks, or wherever.

I think it's pretty easy to meet a celebrity, but a lot harder to meet a specific celebrity. My friend works at a vet in NYC and she's met Penelope Cruz, Colin Farrell, and Brad Pitt to just name a few. I used to live in New Hampshire and I happened to meet Steven Tyler from Aerosmith because he had a summer home in the town next to mine.

It's very hard to meet a celebrity, cuz, as you suspected already, you almost HAVE to know someone who knows either someone close to the celeb, or the celeb him/herself.
I've never been invited for a Meet and Greet, but some friends of mine were, more than once.
After heaving heard how things go at a M&G, I have to admit I'm not disappointed by never getting invited to one : the celeb either asks you for your name, or where you're from, he/she says it's been nice to meet you and he/she hopes you will enjoy the show....and that's it, cuz the following person standing in line wants to shake hands with the celeb too. (they're, the celebs I mean, on a real tight schedule)
All in all this takes like two, maybe three minutes.
Mind you, if you're lucky, the celeb allows you to have your pic taken with him....now THAT of course would be a nice memory.

It is not impossible to meet a celebrity. You can go to LA or Hollywood and go to a premier. You will see MANY celebrities.

Look up their websites and email them. You can always write and state your reasons why you want to meet them; but don't be an obsessive fan. You can say you're their number one fan.
Another option is to go to their concerts if they are singers, and if they're actors,go to the premiers. Search the web.
