I am 36 weeks and 3 days today and yesterday I had a doctor's appointment and she told me I was one centimeter dialated.

Effaced, is when your cervix is thinnig and then you will dialate to 10 and Boom you got a baby. my friend had the same thing happen and then about 10 days later she went into labor and had her baby. Good Luck!

at 36 weeks, you're doing good to be one centimeter dilated. Your cervix is opening up to allow the baby to travel down your pelvis. When you're effaced it is how thick and soft your membrane is.

Effacing if your cervix thinning to allow room for the baby to pass through. It just means your body is preparing to give birth.

dilated means your cervix is opening, effaced means its thinned. It must thin before it can dialate the rest of the way.

the word effaced refers to the thinning of your cervix so if you are 50% effaced your cervix is halfway thinned out for delivery

Your cervix is starting to thin out. When it gets to a ten you are fully dilated and it's time to push the baby out, but this can take a week or two to get there.
