yes, however, I would put the pictures in an addendum and label them by number. Then when you refer to them in the context of your paper, refer to the picture as "Appendix #4" for example. Good luck.

Sure, go ahead and use am image to spice up your paper as long as:

1) you lable the picture and provide the source
2) it's related to your topic
3) you provide an explanation why you're using the image in your paper and
4) you cite the source (where the image originated)

You don't say if you're using a computer and getting the image from the Internet, so I'll assume you are (like many of my students). Here's how to cite the souce of your image, it's not that hard:

Using APA formatting:

TECH EFFECT: The Downing Of Gary Powers. [Online image] Retrieved November 18, 2006, from http://www.thehistorychannel.co.za/site/tv_guide/full_details/Technology/programme_2376.php

MLA format:

TECH EFFECT: The Downing Of Gary Powers. Photo. The History Channel.com. 18 November 2006. .

Both methods require you to underline or use italics, which are not supported by Yahoo Answers. See below for some references:

Pictures are worth "a thousand words" - but they don't count toward your required word count for your paper. Use them to your advantage rather than to fill up space. Use an example in your essay to show which picture your are summarizing. Number them and make sure they are clear and well documented. Don't plagerize if the pictures are copy-righted.

If I were you, I'd refer to the sites recommended by airpocket because if you are going to include pictures they must be properly documented (both in the text and works cited/bibliography). However, I would first check with your instructor. Often you are give a specific page limit, and the instructor expects those pages to be filled with words, not pictures.

dont include them in the actual paper, you can add pictures as a side paper if your interested in more learning, I highly doubt your teacher will disapprove of any extra effort on your part, just make sure you have the required amount of pages before you do any extra

You can use pictures once you meet the required amount of pages, words, etc. You can also put them on the cover.
