Well, I'm 4 weeks, and have dark, but sometimes red slimy spotting and mild cramping. Of course I called my OB and she said it may be a miscarriage. I'm so nervous. Please tell me if you had this at the beginning of your pregnancy and that it turned out everything was okay.

Sometimes during the first month you will have spotting and cramping due to the zygot embedding itself into the lining of the uterus. But you aren't out of the safe zone of your pregnancy until about 20 weeks, as in the liklihood of a miscarriage is relatively high until that point.

Spotting isn't abnormal, but it doesn't mean there isn't something wrong. Just keep your fingers crossed because, unfortunately, there isn't anything you can do about an impending miscarriage.

Mild cramping is common with every pregnancy, epsecially early on. Dont listen to the first person. 90% of all women have period like cramping for the first few months. I had it so bad i took meds and wore a pad for three weeks before i realized i was pregnant.

Spotting in the first couple months is totally normal to. Generally a doctor wont even see you unless you have full on bleeding.

I cant believe your doctor has you stressing over this. Thats just cruel.

Go to the ER and get checked out so that you can stop worrying.

First off I hope everything turns out!

I did actually have spotting at the beginning of my pregnancy for my son. I was about 6-7 weeks along. I went into the ER, and I had to take it easy. As it turned out I had a very healthy boy who was 9lbs. 2.2 oz.

Just becareful of what you do. Take it easy, don't go lifting anything heavy, and try to avoid stress - which may be hard if you are thinking about this. Ralax though if possible. Also it may help to just lay for awhile. I basically laid in bed for a few days with my feet up.

I did spot a little bit at the beginning about 6 wks into my 3rd pregnancy. Kinda greyish slimy. There was a little bit of blood, mainly dry blood involved. And everything did turn out fine. I also had a friend have a full blown period like occurance 3 months into her 2nd pregnancy and that turned out alright too. I hope everything turns out okay for you.

Hi sweety, I hope everything turn out OK. Dark blood means its old but the mixture of red...and cramping isn't a good sign. But please take bed rest. At 13 weeks I started hemorrhaging and actually had large clots come out. The E.R. said all they could do was have me rest. If you're going to miscarry, there's nothing you can do about it. But look up....I had my daughter without losing her. The more you stress, the more you will cramp and have the greater possibility of a miscarriage. So just try and relax.

I bled on and off for the first few weeks and my daughter was born full term and healthy. The cramping is not a good sign though. I hope everything works out for you. Good luck.

if it's dark, it may be old blood that your pregnancy is pushing out.. it may be fine.. if it's bright red blood then I would definitely be concerned... I'm sorry I can't help you because miscarriages are very common but my doctors always told me thorough my problems.. that if it's dark it's old blood which is normal.. if it's bright red then I need to be concerned :) congrats and I hope everything works out for you
