I'm watching my aunt's lizard for her and he just turned all black and got puffy? I belive he is a bearded dragon. Is he ok? Is this normal? Should I run to the vet?

When bearded dragons 'puff' up it means they're displaying aggressiveness and stuff. Which is why they earned the name 'bearded' in their names. However my bearded dragon never turned black either, so I suppose you should probably shimmy on over to the vets and ask.

It could be a terittorial thing, some animals will puff out and change colors depending on their mood. Does he have a UV light? are his crickets dusted with a calcium supplement? If he does he should be ok. Just to be on the safe side, I would call a vet or your aunt.
