my boyfriend isnt circumsized and if the foreskin gets pulled back even a small amount it causes him pain. this inhibits normal sex without him using a condom to keep the foreskin in place. what can he do to make it stop hurting? (and its not from an std or anything)

It's possible that the head of his penis is just really sensitive. But more likely is that either his frenulum is tight or the opening of his foreskin is too tight/narrow.

If it's because his frenulum is too tight he should get that checked out by the doctor. There is usually a small cut or something that can be done to free it up and it's very simple.

If it's because the opening of his foreskin is too tight/narrow, there are things he can try before needing to go to the doctor. He could first try stretching exercises. Take two fingers and stretch the opening of the foreskin as far as it'll go without pain (like increasing its radius) by hooking a finger on either side. It's a little hard to describe and may take a few tries. Once he gets the hang of it, he should do it for a few minutes each day for a few weeks to a month. Eventually it should be loose enough to allow him to pull it back without any pain.

If this doesn't work after a month, he should definitely see a doctor. There are prescription creams that'll help when combined with the exercises. This combination usually resolves the problem in the vast majority of men who suffer from this condition, called phimosis. Now, if the creams don't work, there are surgical options (and not all of them being a form of circumcision, see links).

I've read research which says that most women prefer uncircumcized penises, because they are more natural and provide a natural lubricant. The foreskin is a very sophisticated mechanism, that acts as a distributor of lube inside the vagina. In any case, I don't really care, the most important thing is what a man does with his penis! I do have a slight preference for uncircumcized men. But this is purely personal.

The simple answer is to use a lot of lubricant such as KY jelly.
It's water soluable and solves the problem really easy.
By using KY jelly there won't be any pulling on the foreskin.
He could also use a lubricated condom.

sounds like he may have torn the foreskin where it is attatched to the penis... a normal foreskin should be able to retract painlessly; but by retracting it too far he could have injured himself, perhaps durning sex or masturbation. He should see a doctor right away, to avoid permanent damage.

He has phimosis. Google it.
It is where the skin is too tight and cannot be pulled back. If he did manage to bear the pain and pull it back, it would tear and heal back up all wonky.
If it is troublesome, he may need a circumcision.
It's a common problem.
It also means the man can't clean there properly, so his privates will be a bit smelly....sorry to say that.

There is a procedure that make a small cut to loosen the skin, without a full circumcision.

Cleansing with white vinegar is helpful for uncircumcised males just like it is good for females to douche with. He should clean with soap and water at least once a day and use white vinegar several times a day.

It may be that he has a congenital malformation that is fairly common-- I don't remember the name. There's no reason for him to suffer, though-- tell him to get a medical exam and advice from a doctor.

He needs to see a doctor, he could have an infection or tear in the skin.

Or ask Craig "Bigmeat" Henderson

I'm not circumsized either, but i don't have those problems. Tell him to take a pain killer and get to work.
