Descriptive Classifications of Intelligence Quotients

IQ Description % of Population
130+ Very superior 2.2%
120-129 Superior 6.7%

Apparently, the IQ gives a good indication of the occupational group that a person will end up in, though not of course the specific occupation. In their book, Know Your Child’s IQ, Glen Wilson and Diana Grylls outline occupations typical of various IQ levels:

140 Top Civil Servants; Professors and Research Scientists.
130 Physicians and Surgeons; Lawyers; Engineers (Civil and Mechanical)
120 School Teachers; Pharmacists; Accountants; Nurses; Stenographers; Managers.
110 Foremen; Clerks; Telephone Operators; Salesmen; Policemen; Electricians.
100+ Machine Operators; Shopkeepers; Butchers; Welders; Sheet Metal Workers.
100- Warehousemen; Carpenters; Cooks and Bakers; Small Farmers; Truck and Van Drivers.
90 Laborers; Gardeners; Upholsterers; Farmhands; Miners; Factory Packers and Sorters.

I truly do not believe that IQ scores will desgnate which position you will hold. Especially some of these IQ tests given on the internet.

Mentally Retarted is defined as having an IQ below 70. An IQ of 100 is average.

Did you take one of those online tests, or have a professional test you? The online tests are fun, but not administered properly so the results are skewed.

If you have concerns, check with your school to see if you can be tested and also consider being tested for learning disabilities if you have problems in school.

Best Wishes,

Sue

that is a touch below universal... do not difficulty, some IQ checks are literally not precise. It also relies upon on your age and different issues... IQ try doesn't degree all round intelligence... optimal I were given replaced into one hundred twenty IQ try doesn't have grades pricey... yet you're high-quality... I received an 87 once even as i replaced into youthful and many years later I received a 108, then one hundred fifteen, then one hundred twenty. it honestly relies upon on how concentrated you're... The older you grow to be, the further you study. bear in mind, there are all kinds of intelligence. Intelligence is purely mere mind potential; that is the flexibility to imagine instantly and to have tenacious memory. i recognize someone who's a genius that works at Kinko's. I also recognize a genius that went to reformatory for something a retarded human being might want to do. I fairly have know-how any day over intelligence besides the undeniable fact that that is solid to be psychological.

100 is average & 150 is genius -

If I were you - and it meant a lot to you - I would not get hung up on a number - as EVERY IQ TEST will give you a different answer - they will, however, be in the same range -

Read easier books and develop your vocabulary - multiplication tables - sounds crazy - memorize them well - if you have taken the time to sit for an intelligence quotient test (IQ test) - then you have taken the most important step for ANYTHING IN YOUR LIFE - THE FIRST ONE

Hopefully your smart enough to ignore most of these answers. IQ means absolutely nothing if you apply yourself and don't let anyone tell you that you can't do something. You shouldn't allow this to bother you, but if it does, make it a challenge to prove that test is wrong. Good Luck!

An average IQ is 100. You should get re-tested. If your IQ was that low, you wouldn't be able to use a computer.

" 'Mild mental retardation: IQ 50–55 to 70; children require mild support; formally called "Educable Mentally Retarded".' " --Wikipedia.

82 is slightly above that.
