Those are old news...How about a book about cannibal children who devour adults?

Well no offense or anything but both have been used way to much. I wish I could say one over the other but I wouldn't read a book about either. Unless, you made it totally origonal and all your own. Although if I had to pick between the two of them I'd say kid spies. Much more interesting. (me being weird but I think that there should be death)

the kids travel through time, would be better as it makes your book sound like its got some depth.

Kid spies has been done to death, and doesn't get any interest from me.

Yep the later sounds good to me.

Do a combination of both. I suggest you pick up books by Simon Hawke where they had time travel agents sent to correct problems with the time line. There's no reason a child, particularly a boy, couldn't be recruited to correct a problem. For instance, what if Huck Finn was killed or injured just before he met Tom Sawyer?

There are spots in history where a child was important for the influence they had on an adult or group of adults. Lots of room to play with. You'll have to do research, though.

Both have been done - you will need a unique twist of some kind to make it work. There is a huge need for teen and pre-teen books. I worked in a book store for 6 years and that was the catagory that didn't have much of interest for kids. Keep thinking - you'll come up with something great

Neither...Things like that are so overly-done. Keep racking your brain....Keep writing and writing.....An inspiring idea that you will become truly passionate and ardent about will come to you soon enough...Ponder every day and think things through before beginning the journey of a novel. Keep on and pursue for the best. Good luck!!

Kid spies, but you're going to get accused of ripping someone off.

Why not kid bounty hunters?

Why couldn't they do both?
