I put "other" also ~ race makes no sense ~ It's only for those who want to divide everyone. Just be yourself ~ you are never going to please everyone ~ it isn't possible.

Don't let anybody else define who you are. I assume that you are mixed and I don't see any reason to pick one race ever the other. I'm not mixed, but as a teenager some black people accused me of trying to be white for listening to certain kinds of music, dressing a cartain way, speaking a certain way, etc. As an adult, those peoples' opinions mean absolutely nothing to me.
Have you ever talked to your family members and said that it bothers you when they say these things to you? Hopefully they are mature enough to understand that they are hurting you. Please don't try to change how you speak and act just to fit in, you'll regret it. If you can't be true to who you are, then what else do you have in life. There's a whole world of people out there who will accept you for who you are.

In my opinion, race is kind of arbitrary. Really.
Its annoying that you should have to put your race on a job application form. I can't think of anything more racist, even tho the intent is probably to try and be more "fair" albeit in the wrong way.
If your own cousins care about how light or dark your skin, is, what can I say? I mean, geez.
if you really get pissed off on a race classificatin form, tell them your hispanic/latina/o!!! Lots of those countries have lots of race mixing, so there. Or even say, yur white. Phoey.
I really hate this kind of @##@.

There are so many shades of brown between "black" and "white" that the labels are absurd-- for example, I'm Sicilian. Many people consider Sicilians to be white, yet some people don't. My paternal grandfather, who was 100% Calabrese from Catanzaro, Italy, was as dark as my son, who is half-black. I generally think of myself as "white," but there are some people who are surprised by that. The moral of the story: it doesn't matter.
Labels are silly. Call yourself whatever you want, but we're all Americans (Assuming you live in the U.S.)
BTW, you don't have to put your race on job applications. They can't legally require you to answer the question. Just answer "prefer not to disclose" or don't answer it at all.

Yeah I would put other too, anyway if it makes you feel better I don't fit in with my family either. They don't understand me,and there all crazy drama queens (its a house full of girls and women.)My sister annoys the hell out of everyone.I feel like a complete outcast where ever I go not because of the color of my skin, but because I just think different from everybody. So nobody understands me.Race really doesn't matter, but since you are mixed with black and white,I guess you are mixed.I can't really remember the name for it.

If you don't receive the common ridicules or face the societial difficulties of being black and you are not subject to M.Garvey's "Double Conscious"........then you're white. Being black involves being hated and misunderstood because people think your skin color represents evil/unpure/not right.
If you want to be black, cool, but understand you will never face or understand what your cousins will face everyday.

if you want to know for sure you could have genetic tests done. but what would that change? you are who you are. it's a shame that your family doesn't support you but i hope that you are able to reach out to friends who will be there for you. dress how you want to dress, talk how you want to talk, just be a productive positive role model to others like yourself. good luck.

Race is a social construct. In other words, it only exists in the minds of the people who think about it. I am sorry that this has caused you such concern.

If you are of mixed background then under America's archaic classifications, define yourself. Ever see the movie "Underworld" lol. You are neither and stronger than both.

I'm white but my long lost father has told me that I'm part Pacific Islander & the sad thing is I don't know where that is & he already thinks I'm stupid so I can't ask him.
