I'm 33 weeks and I'm 13 so my baby might come early. I keep worrying about my daughter coming to early but how do I tell the difference? Between Braxton Hicks and the real thing I mean? I had Braxton Hicks contractions last night and my mother and doctor reassured me that there is nothing to worry about. THEN my boyfriend told me being stressed endangers he baby more so I can't help but to worry. Is this true? Or just an old wives tale?!? If it is true anyways to keep my mind off it? No rude comments please.

Babies have less than a 1% chance at 21 weeks, at 24 weeks it's a little more than 50%, and by 28 weeks it's about 95%. At 33 weeks the chances of survival are 99.99%, although your baby would need to stay in the NICU for at least a couple of weeks until he/she could regulate their own body temperature, and eat well on their own. Studies show that once a baby reaches 28 weeks there are usually no long term affects, although they will need to be monitored by an Early Start program until they turn 3. I hope this helps.

The earliers a baby can live outside the mothers' womb is 24 weeks. So don't worry, yes you are younger so there is a possibly that the baby will be born early. But don't worry, your baby will be in the best hands and have the best care it could ever have. As long as your not stressing over every little thing your fine, your baby is fine........I know your worried but it's okay, everything will work out. Braxton Hicks are irregular and will not increase in intensity. While labor will be regular coming at regular periods of time and will increase in pain at constant rate. Sometimes people get the two of them confused (braxton hicks and the real thing).......if you get worried talk it over with your mom. The best of luck to you and Congratulations

well...33 weeks is early, and your baby would more than likely have to spend some time in the NICU, but survival rates are really really good for that age! My oldest was born at 35 weeks, and after a 5 day hospital stay, he went home. He is now..well..your age, 13.
You WILL know the difference between braxton hicks and the real ones. The real ones will keep getting closer together, and will last longer and become stronger. If you have any doubt, go to your Labor and Delivery ward. Don't take the chance. Having to leave your baby in the NICU really is no fun! They couldn't stop my son from coming early as my water broke before I was even having contractions...but if they could have I would have much rather seen him stay in there longer and not have to go through the things he DID. Good luck!

33 weeks is in the safe zone......36 weeks is considered full term....... as far as labor pains.....you'll know.....1.) the pains will be spaced a apart with the same time between each one.....2.) when you walk around or try to lay down and rest, they will not stop.....3.) they get more and more painful with each one.....4.)and then they will get to be closer together........ When they get to severe and about 5 minutes apart, then call the doctor..... As far as stress, yes it can affect the baby, but there is really no way to keep from thinking about...... I would recommend going shopping and getting a few more outfits, or blankets...etc.... Also, go get a pedicure, or treat yourself to a day out....relax, and another thing.....be prepared....make sue the finishing touches are done for the baby's stuff, and pack for the hospital.....If you are having the baby in another town, pack extra clothes, maybe a couple books, and some lotion...make your bf rub your feet in the hospital, take some cards.....take extra clothes if anyone will be staying with you in the room..... When I had my son, I had to have a c-section at the last minute, and we were an hour from home....and my poor husband only had 2 outfits to last the 4 days we were there.....LOL... Congrats and good luck.

PS..... Put a plastic shower curtain between the matress and the bottom sheet..... if your water breaks while you are a sleep it will ruin the bed you will never be able to get the stain or the smell out of it..........trust me I know.

I have had friends that had their baby's at 34 and 36 weeks, and their baby's were fine. It is perfectly normal to be worrying about your baby at any age, that's part of being a mother. Just try to relax and take care of yourself during these last weeks before your daughter comes. As for the braxton hicks, many people confuse these for contractions. Believe me, when you're having contractions you'll know. Just trust your instincts. I wish you the best of luck!

If the baby is born early it should be fine. When you have real labor contractions they will be a lot stronger then the braxton hicks contractions. It's normal to be a little stressed and nervous about the baby and labor. You should be just fine.

My sister's daughter lived at 28 weeks. It was a hard struggle but she survived. Most twins are born around 34 weeks so you will be OK even if you deliver early. Contractions are hard to tell the real from the braxton hicks. If you can't breathe or talk through one of them and feel increasing pressure in your pelvis, then call your doctor. If they are just uncomfortable, then you'll be OK. I had contractions since I was about 28 weeks pregnant and dilated to 4...but my daughter held out. Just take it easy and don't stress out.

33 weeks is definately viable for the baby to live. A baby is viable at 24 weeks and can survive even earlier in some cases. Nothing to worry about right now. If your baby is ready to come, it will be ok. It may spend some time in the hospital because of it's premature, but it should be ok. I worry a lot too (I'm 19 weeks along) I have this horrible worry about the umbilical cord wrapping itself around my baby's neck, but there is nothing really I can do about it but I still worry.

Being stressed can cause preterm labor. Staying calm and sedate is always best.

Anything after 31 weeks is considered viable, and the chances of a baby dying from birth that early is pretty rare. by 36 weeks you are considered full term, although your due date isnt for another four weeks.

You'll know the difference between braxton hicks and labor because you're have more than 6 in an hour, they become progressively stronger, and result in a lot of discharge, mucus, or your water breaking.

33 weeks, not long left now, don't worry you'll be fine, babies are usually ok and can be looked after by Dr's and manage fine from around 26 weeks.

You'll know the difference between real contractions & the hicks when you get them, believe me lol, but don't worry about it, if it was so bad women wouldn't keep on having babies.
