If you are really good, you don't need to be arrogant. Arrogance is usually a way to hide ones insecurity.
While I've met some rare individuals you were also good, I'd say by far the best I've met tended to be open minded and humble. This opens them up to other new ideas which tends to allow them to improve.
Many people with a degree of talent become losers by being arrogant and thus being unable to improve themselves.

I'll tell you that the *really good* one's are not arrogant.
I've met some very famous people, the ones who are "up and on the rise" are arrogant beyond belief.
The one's who've made it -- are relaxed and easy to get along with.

I can't stand arrogant people. Even if they are good at something , the minute they start bragging it really annoys me. I cannot stand lance armstrong or any sports figure that is full of themselves

NO. BECAUSE WITH GREAT POWER COMES GREAT RESPONSIBILITY. A PERSON WHO IS GOOD WILL TOLD BY OTHERS THAT THEY ARE. WHEN YOU START TO SMELL YOURSELF YOU WILL FALL HARD WHEN YOU FIND OUT SOMEONE IS BETTER THAN YOU.
