If they are really afraid to be so old, I guess that it is because the world shall be changed so much during this period of time. If your family and friends do not have a similar chance to live hundreds of years, you have to find new wife/husband as well as good friends again and again, and you are still missing all those people who you had lost.

If you are bright enough for hundreds of years, however, the long life is very challenging: you can find out how the world has found solutions against overpopulation, shortage of energy, wars e.t.c.

I don't see a problem with it except an overpopulation or scare resources problem. Thing is people think "oh I won't want to live that long." But you can always just jump off a cliff when you are 490 years old and have had enough with your absurdly long life.

Why live that long once you hit 80/90 you'll be incontinent bed ridden and living in a home where your kids won't visit .Your eye sight will be on it's way out as will your legs and the rest of you no one should live that long it would be cruel .

Why do you want to live that long your self?

Because people imagine that they have fragile bodies at that point, if at 67 your body is already weak can you imagine at 400? unless you mean that tech will make it so our bodies are able to live that long, Then again the earth will be to full and some of us will move to Mars.

Pedro, you cheeky lad!
Me, I will be happy to live to 500, because to do so, the medical system and technology, and everything else would be so advanced that we would not age as we do now. Remember, not too many years ago people died much younger on average than they do now.

I don't think humans have evolved enough to live 500 years, when would you retire, what would you do with all that time?. Unless it was a Iain M Banks utopia, I dont think i would want that much time

Does nothing for me - 500 is an age no one's gonna get to - unless they develop a pill to help the process.
