In addition to the physical changes that others have mentioned, there was one thing I found kind of frightening because nobody told me to expect it. That was that suddenly I'd start crying and feel really wretched and not know why. I wasn't sad or upset or depressed - I just couldn't NOT cry! I'd make up excuses when people asked me why I was crying, but they were just excuses - it was just the hormone changes and nothing that anybody did mean or anything else that anyone could change. Happily that doesn't last too long, but it's weird when it happens.

wow! lucky! i got mine when i was 10! i started freaking out cause i didnt know what to do i thought something was wrong with me. u get cramps, first few years you arent regular (just last month i turned regular and im 14 now too), you get cravings (which can stink when what you want isnt near, today i got seriously sick, like throwing up, overheating, then freezing, but thats only happened one other time to me over the summer.) so be prepared to have medicine and take it before the pain starts! and dont let anyone pressure you to wear tampons if u dont want to. wear whatever you're comfortable with.

hope that helps!

Don't feel left out. I went to school with a girl who didn't get her period until she was 16. It's all in how your body was made dear. You can expect cramps, nausea, light headedness, light to heavy bleeding, lack of energy. Like I said, it all varies on your body. Try talking to your mom or a trusted female about your period and what to expect.

you might get crampng pains in your stomach, also feel quite tired, sore boobs(if you have any), and sometimes nauseouus, also you might be more tired. i always know when my period is due, as my boobs are sore at the moment and i always crave chocolate, but it is all perfectly normal and i am 28. My 12 yr old niece is lucky as she doesnt suffer any of these symptoms when she has her period, so you might be lucky. Also you should talkl to your mum to put your mind at rest, hope you find this helpful?

Physically you will develop pimples on your face before you get your period and if you've kept your face clean they will go off eventually...your breast might feel sensitive...etc etc

- you might get moodswings before, during or after
- you might have cramps, which is pain just below your stomach
- you might feel tired
- you might feel like fainting when you stand up after sitting down for a long time

all types of changes, just search around the internet and you'll get all types of answers...but don't worry too much, 'cause having a period means you are able to get pregnant! just gotta keep yourself clean and feel refreshed! =)

Honestly, I don't really remember much of a change. Mostly, though, just the feeling of bloating/weight gain. It isn't too bad!!!! And count your blessings- most girls started by 14!
