Why do they demand rights for their choices in life, yet many of them deny even the most basic human rights for people who chose cannabis (pot) over alcohol?.. Anyone who has done any reading on the subject knows there are more people who use cannabis, then there are homosexuals in the US and that it is far less damaging than alcohol... Millions of people can't even drink alcohol for health reasons, their rights are being completely denied, so why should gays insist that people educate themselves about homosexuality, when many of them condemn people for using cannabis (pot) without ever educating themselves on the subject?... (and reading government funded propaganda is not educating yourself, it's "brainwashing".

Let's also make the Catholic religion illegal, There probably isn't enough Catholics to defend themselves on a vote... You're comparing apples and Toyotas. Both may come in green or red, but they otherwise have nothing to do with one another.
People should not be discriminated against based on their race, gender, religions, or who they fall in love with. That's basic equal protection. The laws should apply to everyone equally.
The federal government has declared pot illegal, as a controlled substance. Just because some white people or some women might have voted for those laws doesn't make a racial or gender issue.

Wait a minute. 1st, I'm not gay, but I'm going to answer this for the principle of the discussion. Being gay and wanting rights because you are is a humanity thing. Choosing to smoke pot is on a totally different avenue. The law is broken if you're caught doing it--no one can be arrested for being gay. In some cases, in military situations, a person can be kicked out. That's not being arrested. Respectfully, reading "government-funded propaganda", as you refer to it, may not matter to you now on the dangers of pot smoking--alcholol can be as dangerous as pot smoking, no matter how much you use. When your brain is pickled one day from pot, don't cry to the world "like a pig stuck under a fence." Someone tried to warn you.
