To be honest, listening to Christmas songs actually help me realize the holiday isn't about spending money but spending time with my beloved family.

No. I've never heard that connection before and I don't see where it comes from either. No one is holding a gun to your head that you must spend money and go broke or into debt.

Christmas songs get people in the holiday spirit, plain and simple.

ABSOLUTELY NOT! But then I can only speak for myself.

I am done shopping and wrapping long before even November comes so it has no effect on me what so ever.

It does however put me in the mood to look at Christmas stuff in the store, though I would never buy of it till after Christmas when it is all marked down 90%.... THEN I GO SHOPPING for the next years birthdays and holidays.

aaaaaaaaaaagh life is good when you save thousands of dollars and watch others piss theirs away!!

Merry Christmas!

no...it just puts me in the mood for Christmas. The only thing that can cause you to spend money is yourself. Christmas is only so commercial because people let it be.

Well, hearing them definitely gets me more into the whole Christmas "spirit", and since shopping for presents is part of that, maybe so!
