No, it's cruel. I was put on a medication that caused me to gain 45 lbs. because the doctor didn't tell me that was a side effect. I got a taste (pardon the pun) of being overweight and the judgmental looks that went with it etc. Not everyone is overweight because they eat 15 Big Macs a day.
