No, and it had no terrorists either. There are now 10's of thousands more terrorists thanks to Bush and Rumsfailed.

No, there really wasn't much of an armed revolt going on against Saddam. Once Saddam was gone, some Iraqis decided to settle some old grudges, and others decided to fight against what they saw as the US invading their country.
So some of it isn't the US's fault, it's old grudges being worked out. That part was inevitble and would have happened eventually once Saddam died of old age, or got toppled by his own people. As I see it, a civil war was going to happen sooner or later, we just made it happen sooner.
Some of it is the US's fault, since if US troops weren't there there'd be no one to fight against for the "insurgents."
It's a damn mess, in my opinion. We never invaded the USSR during the Cold War, I have no idea why anyone thought invading Iraq was a good idea.

You don`t have insurgents in a war because you are fighting a government in a real war, but you do have insurgents in an occupation which is what Iraq is.

Yes, but they weren't always called that.
Iraq has been engaged in effectively a cold civil war for decades. It's heated up (dramatically) since Saddam was taken out of the picture. But the conflict has been in place since long before the US got involved. In fact, many of the crimes Saddam was charged with dealt with his actions towards those groups.

No, before the war they were called Syrians and Iranians who were at war with Iraq. Now they are using the weakness of the new government to try and take over from within.

Yes however Saddam ruled the country with an iron fist. At the first sign of disagreement with him or his policies he would have them tortured or killed.

Poisoned Gassed over a 100,000 Kurds.
