People may not agree w/ the gay lifestyle, however if they got to really KNOW some gay people the ignorance surrounding their beliefs would be wiped out. Gay people are just like straight people as far as I can tell. Live and let live, why do people care about what others do in the bedroom? Is it a sin? Who are we to judge or care? I can think of many other "sins" that humans commit that far surpass being gay if being gay is a sin.

Good question. Homosexuality is not a sin. It's something natural that has always existed and is simple attraction. It exists in several species along with humans, for instance, same gender dolphins have long been observed giving each other pleasure, both male and female alike. Also monkeys do this, as well as humans and numerous other species. It's just natural. It's a matter of preference, there is no right or wrong.
Why can't two people be happy together regardless of their gender? The world needs more love. Homo, hetro, bi, either way, love is love. Homosexual couples should be allowed to marry too.
And if anyone is wondering, I am not gay myself.

I believe homosexuality is a choice, definitely not a gene. Seems silly to say that someone would be "genetically inclined" to like just boys or just girls, unless it were that your genes dictated you would like to opposite sex, for the purpose of procreation. There'd be no other genetic, scientific purpose for a "gene" that dictates our sexual preferences.
With that being said, although I am heterosexual, I see nothing wrong with the homosexual lifestyle. An adult should be free to love and have sexual relations with whomever they find that comfort in. As a morality issue, a person is responsible for their own moral standards, and I feel that I have no right to step in to make moral/religious decisions regarding someone else's sexual preferences.
And as to the issue of it being a sin...from my interpretation on reading the Bible (I am not a Christian, but was raised in a Christian home and have read the Bible from cover to cover)...I would say that it is a sin. Especially since many states do not recognize homosexual marriages, and any sex outside marriage would be considered to be in sin.

The only reason I can think of for hating homosexuals is frankly their own fault. I myself do not go around proclaiming my sexual preferences (which are more than a little unusual). I do not insist that anyone accept my orientation, and I do not look for special "rights" that no one else asks for. (although I could certainly use such!) Homosexuals (who are seldom truly gay, i.e. happy, at least in public) take great delight in marching in unison, blowing whistles, and generally making a nuisance of themselves. I for one resent their collective attitude!
God gave us the freedom to sin, even though He doesn't WANT us to. But He does warn us of consequences should we choose to sin. I believe this is a model that should be followed by our government. Homosexuals (I refuse to misuse the word 'gay', and I won't insult them by calling them 'queer') should have the right to do their thing IN PRIVATE on condition that they accept the natural and logical consequences of their own actions. Two of them living together are not a marriage, any more than two teenagers living together or an old lady and her cat are a marriage. They should not get the special benefits that government sets aside specifically for marrieds. On the other hand, I see no real reason why good friends should not be allowed into hospitals, and there should be a contractual relationship for legal purposes available to them. Just don't call it marriage.
The Right of Privacy, while not actually enumerated in the Constitution, is needed for the most part only by those who wish to do something shameful, immoral, or illegal. Or to preserve one's advantage. It is not a right given by God, indeed, He watches not only our every move, but even our every thought. Fortunately, this is impossible for government to emulate. No human can watch every action by each of 225 million people. Nevertheless, anyone foolish enough to make their private lives public deserves whatever censure they receive.
I have only known a couple of homosexuals personally, and both were good people. Neither one of them was an activist. Coincidence? I think not!

Actually I don't care and I am not interested. If anyone is homosexual, then let them be! It's their choice. If they don't have any problem, why should anyone else have a problem!!!!!
It's their private business. Anyone who says its a sin, lemme ask u y? They are not hurting anyone, its not a crime!! So **** your "sin" !!
By the way, its not their choice to be homosexual. Its genetic.

It is just a personal preference. In old Roman times it was not a taboo. they even said that woman is for getting child and man for pleasure. Sin is man made and it changes with time in the same culture and the interplay between cultures also play a major role. so i do not think anyone should sit on judgement in these things.

My sense is that it isn't caused "by a gene" but by the hormonal environment during early development in the womb (so is biological, but not genetic).
People don't choose to be gay, they are gay, or straight, or both. (I mean, think about it. When society kept gays in the closet, why would anyone CHOOSE to be gay? When people are beat up or even killed for it, or have to go through life being told they are disgusting, sick, etc. they wouldn't choose it. People realize they are gay -- that's not choice, that's acknowledging reality.)
Of course it isn't a sin.

One is born gay, it's not a choice. You would be really indifferent to anything because that is what one would think to be the normal for their particular lifestyle. Homosexuality is NOT a sin because, well, a sin is non-existent actually. If the church has a problem with it, then they would have to go public with their opinion to say that it WOULD be a sin for something that this gay man was naturally born with.

Practicing homosexuality is a sin but being attracted to a person of the same sex is just a tendancy toward sinfulness which can be overcome just like overcoming a desire to steal, lie, etc. For each one of us the temptations are different as we are individuals born sinful but it our love for God that should keep us from dwelling on or acting on those wrong desires.

I believe it is genetic, and not a sin. Homosexuality is loving another person, regardless of their sex, and love is definitely not a sin.
