what is the front thing that holds the guitar string? it should be white that holds 6 strings together

If you mean at the top where the pegs are it is called a "nut". At the other end by the sound hole it's called the "bridge".

If the thing you ask is near the haed (where the tuning pegs are) it is called a nut... if it is down where you strum, it is the bridge
