Would there be more girls who wanted to wear dresses and skirts simply because they weren't allowed to?

The fact that there are slacks for women, but no dresses for men might be an answer to this question. Women today don't wear slacks because they are trying to rebel, it's just another clothing option. A woman can wear feminine jeans, but there aren't any 'masculine' skirts outside of Scotland. I think maybe the 'taboo' element applies only to men and not to women. There may be more insights in your question than some people realize at first.

Does the skirt or dress make the person, or does the person make the clothes? Then regardless who wears what, it should not make any difference. Real guys will be guys, and real girls will be girls. Only difference would be for those in between folks.

probably be about the same proportion of women who would "cross-dress" as there is now...it would just be that there would still be the same sector of the female population that is comfortable wearing either trousers or skirts

btw...it seems like it would make more sense for guys to ride what is currently considered a "girl's" bike so that they don't crack their nuts on the frame if they come off the seat as a result of hitting a bump

Probably...i think it would depend on the girl though. Right now not every girl wants to wear guy clothes so I think it would probably be the same as it is now. ummm...what would we be wearing if they were wearing all the girl clothes??
