I'm having my period but it is not normal. Since the bleeding began on Wednesday evening I have used 3 pads that did not even get filled completely and this is Saturday. Also, am wondering if anyone who had periods during pregnancy had regular clots or if it was just blood??

sorry...forgot to say that I'm just hoping that I am pregnant, but haven't had any confirmation yet. The longer this goes on, the less I am convinced. I was just wondering if there was any clotting in those people who said that they had periods when pregnant. :)

With my first child, I had my first period after I got pregnant with her but mine was a regular period for me. For the most part it was just blood but you get the occasional little clot throughout the period....you don't have any reason to worry unless you start bleeding very heavy and have a very large clot...i know cuz i also had that. it is very scary. If you are worried though, bed rest for a little while because that's all the doctors will tell you to do. if you were to miscarry there is not anything they can do. Good luck!

You didn't say if you are pregnant or not.

I am guessing that you are NOT pregnant and you are just wondering if you might be. If that is the case, then it doesn't sound like you are pregnant. It is possible to have a period when pregnant but very rare. Blood and clotting in pregnancy is not a good sign, but doesn't always mean a miscarriage. Blood (with or without clots) and pain/cramping almost always indicates a miscarriage.

If you are pregnant and are bleeding heavy you should go to the doctor ASAP. Some staining is OK but heavy bleeding is not normal.

Period during pregnancy is NOT possible--what you are experiencing is abnormal bleeding and your ob/gyn needs to be notified immediately!
