I've observed a well cut,slight slope, hill with many groundhogs but never any dirt from they're tunnels that they dug. With that many groundhogs there must be a huge pile of dirt somewhere ..

alot of it is just packed into the walls of the tunnels.

thats an interesteing question i suppose it just flirts it up around the top of the holeand down the sides of the hole so when it rains the dirt wont run back inside

Usually around any groundhog hole is the earth that he has scooped out to dig that hole. It is unusual if you are experiencing that as I have never seen that.
