depends on what you both like. Dinner can be awkward if one or both of you are shy, so keep that in mind. Movies work well, since you can get the togetherness without having to get into a deep conversation until after the movie...at which point you will have something to talk about (the movie). If you like more intimate dates, a walk in a quiet place, like a beach or somewhere you can just hold hands, walk, talk and get to know each other.

The thing about first dates is there is no wrong way to do one, as long as you both get over the first date jitters.

2) Not someplace that will/can pressure you or your date to go further than you want it to i.e. a bar, a romantic movie, etc.
3) Should always be somewhere that you can get to know each other (so not too crowded and loud)
4) Should be kept lighthearted without expectations

So a couple of rounds at the bowling alley, a coffee shop, a city event, a dance etc. etc.
