Men: Why do you think that it is hard for you ( or other men (in general) ) to say I love you to your wife / gf? Did you know that sometimes when a man says " I love you " it is just as effective as the man SHOWING his love for his lady? :P
WAS this a problem for you at one time or another? What helped you get over it?

It is the same way with men to their children.
It seems a precondition to life as a male that we are not as affectionate as our female counterparts. As well we shouldn't be.
I for one wouldn't want to know a world where men were in touch with their (other side). There would be nothing but NANCY BOYS
to cry, confessing their love to everything.
Just as I wouldn't want to know a world were all the women were the (mountain men) type.
I guess I am trying to say, GOD just didn't make us that way.
As he didn't make women to be that way.
It ballances things out.

Well for me it is because I would like to sing it. No one
wants to be lonely is a song I recorded 2 years ago on cd with same people on the video MTV, as I
was trying to keep my show updated and fresh. I quietly
watched alone at home the first premiere. I could not
believe, I understood power in beautiful way. I would say
that the moment is not a man's strong point, not like you
can just sit down and say now make a wish, and seal it
with an embrace. Spontaneity is part of the beauty.

I think it is a problem with intimacy. As men, we are sometimes disconnected emotionally.

Why do grown men hug their moms and not their dads(usually)?

Part of it is the way we are wired, but society has a role as well.

Of course nowadays if guys go around hugging other guys, they'll likely be considered gay, so many men further disconnect.

I attend a church where most people give hugs to each other. There is often a lot of awkwardness when new guys come around. Usually they get over it when they realize the other guys are masculine and not gay, but are just being friendly.

I think men in general think that saying "I love you" is an admission of loss of freedom.
