The Fire Emblem series for Nintnendo. It is out on the GameCube and DS systems. A lot of fun and they take a while to complete.

If you mean online games I can't really help, now if you meant consol games like PS2 the best in my opinion is Dragon Quest VIII(8) the journey of the cursed King(or some sub name like that). It's a great old-school style RPG and I think it's like $20 now for new.

i never palyed any but my brother does and i like to read the books he gets, they were always pretty interesting i read a really crazy one about russia being ruled by the underworld and an witch named baba yaga it was really heavily influenced by cold war themes
they were all about werewolfs and ghost vampires ect...

For PC... try Black & White, or Black & White 2. You may enjoy those alot.
