Whether you take this job doesn't only depend on the circumstances of the position itself, but also YOUR circumstances.

If you haven't been employed for awhile, short on money, bill collectors hounding you, then it might be wise to take the position, even with the downfalls, as a means for you to subsist until you find something better (which shouldn't be hard).

I would take the job if I NEEDED a job. I would not take the job if I had other job opportunities pending that were better, or if it was a job that might in some way hinder my getting a better job. If I am unemployed, I don't necessarily consider that the first position I find (or take) will be my life's work, but rather will help me to continue my search.

At best this sounds as if would be a stop-gap position. The downside is that you would be working under weak and loose management coupled with a weak boss which may result in conflicting agendas and priorities amongst the staff. You mention only a moderate workload, keep in mind that the day may drag very slowly. Thirteen days off a year is a little skimpy and the health benefits are not great. You already know that some of your co-workers are going to be difficult. Having said that, $35k is fairly decent for a clerical position and the fifteen-minute drive to work does not even make you break a sweat. I say take the job and keep on looking.

some of this is contradicting .

if you have a weak boss and weak management of course their is room for advancement , all you would have to do is be better than them on a daily basis . but no i would not even consider this , 10 days of vacation is terrible and the insurance is piss poor , and being that you get only 3 paid holidays you probably have to work the rest . And a work environment full of idiots ( coworkers bad attitude , loose management ) is aggravating

Happiness and Love of Work should be your first motivation.

If you do not see a future here dont take the job. If you see constant strife and stress dont take the job. If you are worth more that you are getting (total benefits) dont take the job.

If you have not work now and need something fast you can take the job and keep looking for a better job. But keep in mind this will not look good on your resume for future work. Never take a job you will be miserable in. It is never worth the money.

Keep Looking

The pay is very resonable, drive time to work is excellent,
the rest is Ho Hum. Really depends on how bad you are
strapped for money. Personally i would take the job at the
same time be looking for another one with career advancement
opportunities.

Depends on how bad the attitude is, but for the most part it sounds good. If you're not driven for career advancement.
