I take it you are a rival club?
I'm an Owls supporter and I can recognise Newcastle as a big club.
I think sour grapes on YOUR part. Who do you support? Hartlepool ?

I'm not a Geordie and neither am I a football fan but when I moved up here there were so many fans wanted to watch the game that one of the local cinemas was full every week with live feeds from the stadium - any other clubs have that problem? I doubt it.
You can't measure success by the silverware in a cupboard. Newcastle fans are probably the most loyal fans in the country, possibly the world, they continue to support their team regardless of what they win or how they perform in the premiership or Europe. What other club has that level of support? That's Newcastle's measure of success not a cup that is there for a season and gone the next.
I'm not a football fan but tell me one other club that can fill it's stadium week in week out even if the team loses time after time? But I know this: Every club would like that fan based loyalty, if you think I'm wrong you won't understand any of this reply.
Oh yes just to put this in perspective - football is played for entertainment it's just a game it really isn't important.

Does it extremely count number if Newcastle are a huge club or not?! on the end of the day it´s a football club an similar because the others which have their help. anybody has their personal opinion as to what they classify a huge club, non leaguers might want to assert Charlton is a huge club, it´s all all the way down to ones personal attitude.in my opinion the purely ingredient that concerns to me is my personal club and the way it performs, no matter if that is deemed a huge club. All this discuss what's a huge club sounds similar to "my dad is more effective than your dad." on the end of the day does it extremely count number?! and what enormous difference does it extremely make.?! A club may be considered enormous now-a-days if it may entice authentic high quality gamers so there´s yet another one to placed which incorporates of the wealthy and powerful golf equipment.

Newcastle are a big club with a great stadium and 50,000 loyal supporters, who turn up week after week to see their team play even though they have not won anything for ages.

the fact that they pack the stadium with 50,000 fans per week means nothing. most teams in the premiership would get that if they had that capacity. they haven't won anything in nearly 40 years, so, currently, how do you distinguish between newcastle and any of the other crap teams? you can't - so they're not a big club

Not necessarily. I consider them a big club (in England) because they are in the Premiership. They are among the best clubs in English football (out of who knows how many clubs). Just think of it this way, how many people have heard of the Columbus Crew in comparison to the people who have heard of Newcastle Utd? Exactly.

Loads of loyal (until recently!) fans paying their cash every week, big-money signings that never prosper in the North East, always being in the media with managers or directors being in the spotlight.
Being a big club and being a successfull club are 2 different things, and Newcastle are a big club...unitl the Geordie faithful find something else to do with their money and/or the club gets relegated - either's fine by me!

Newcastle think that they are a big club because they are a big club. The fan base is the deciding factor -not whether they buy success.

The same reason the Aston Villa, Man City and Spurs think they're big. It's deranged, depressed fans that perpetuate this myth. I'm an Everton fan and we are one of the most successful teams in English history however I admit whilst we're big we arn't a massive club. The only massive clubs in the UK are Man Utd, Liverpool (I was nearly sick when I wrote that) Celtic and Rangers.
