No the seasons of the year to not occur at the same time all around the world. South of the equator is the opposite of the Northern Hemisphere where we live...Japan, (which is in Asia), All of Europe, the U.S. and Canada are all in the Northern hemisphere so we all have the seasons at the same time.

Austrialia, Brazil (which is South America) and most of Africa are in the southern hemisphere. When it is winter above the equator, it is summer there. When it is summer here, it is winter there. However, the name of the month is the same...for those south of the equator, December, January, February are the summer months. In June, July and August they are measuring their snow fall and trying to go skiing. Seems strange of us who've never been "down under".

The closer a country or location is to the Equator, the less likely there will be any change between seasons so it may seem like another season but they still call 95 degrees in February "winter" even if they are slightly north of the equator. They would call 95 degrees in February "summer" if they lived slightly south of it.

North America is in the Northern Hemisphere, while Australia is in the Southern Hemisphere. The earth is on an axis. So when the sun is focused on Australia, causing it to be summer, North America isn't receiving the same direct sunlight. Therefore it is colder in North America, and it is winter. It's all based on the fact that the two continents are on opposite sides, and receive more direct sunlight during different parts of the year.

When it's winter in the U.S., it is summer in South America. Basically and simply put, when the Northern Hemisphere is having winter, the Southern Hemisphere is having summer, so the U.S. and Japan would be having winter at the same time.

In the nothern hemisphere, winter is at the same time, and in the southern hemisphere, the winter is at the same time. Here and Japan are in winter at the same time because we are both in the nothern hemisphere.

when it's winter in the northern hemisphere it's summer in the southern hemisphere. It's winter here in Canada, but it's summer in Australia!

When you have winter in the northern hemisphere, then you have summer in the southern hemisphere, and then they reverse themselves because of the rotation of the earth-this gives us our seasons....KECK

they differ. The earth's rotation makes it summer here and winter in China.
