I find it hard to believe that you are on the honor role after reading the above paragraph. You can't spell and your grammar skills are lousy. Listen kid, forget being a model for now and stay in school to improve your abilities. Being able to spell and write proficiently will take you farther than a pretty face.

Well if you want to be a model, at 13, I just have to say...don't get dissappointed. There are seriously A LOT of hopefuls in the modeling buisness, and it might take a long time for a scout to notice you. You may just look like any regular girl.
and it doesn't matter your grade in middle school...because your highschool grades matter most in colleges. Seriously, a 4.0 is not that high.
but try to get into competitions, and auditions. auditions are key.

well to be a model is hard. you have to be anorexic and thats is very unhealthy but if u really want to you can start by going on a very strict diet. no carbs, no calories no chocs, fizzy drinks(coke fan or fanta) you can have one of it at most 1 in 2 months, u might be thin but the thinner the better. then go online and fill out any model agency application and fake an age. they'll prob ask for weight length ur waist length and all. then u can see the result. do tht for 4yrs and if u r still inn shape u can start acting singing other stuff that can get u noticed. help in voluntry work and all that. thats aoll i can give for now. i'm lustyprisca. mail me anytime. i have other questions to answer. ciao!!!!!!!!!!!!

Long but read anyway, I at least take your question seriosly, unlike some people.

In many cities they have model and TV commercial searches. They are for all ages from infant through elderly. I don't know how I got on a mailing list but I get little mailers that tell me where these searches will be and the dates and times. We missed the last one. I was going to take my 3 kids there to see if they could be in a commercial or an ad for toys or clothes. They have modelling agencies there too.
The #1 thing I have to say about modelling agencies is, if they ask you to put a bunch of money or really any money up front for them to take you as a client then they are bogus. I watched a thing on TV that Tyra Banks did and she was giving advice to those who wanted to be models. They also said beware of agencies that ask you to take off all your clothes in the photo shootings. Tell them NO and just walk out. You are there to show your face, your clothed body and your personality. Especially at your age.
Another good thing might be is if your school has a drama club that would be a good place to start training. When a photographer asks you to show different emotions or whatever for the camera, the class can show you how to evoke those feelings and show the appropriate facial expressions.
Getting in touch with YOU and who you are is key. Models are actresses behind still shot pictures. Have you watched America's Top Model ye?. Wednesdays at 8 eastern time, 7 central time. You can learn from what they tell the models on that show. You can learn that modelling is hard work and not a cake walk.
The fact that you are a good student is a plus.
As for your mother, maybe if you can show her that your focus on your schoolwork will not suffer and that you are ready to do what it takes to get there and stick with it, she might change her mind.
Do some research about modelling and the agencies. Check the agency out with the Better Business Bureau before signing ANY papers. And always read the fine print even if it takes bringing it home to read, they shouldn't mind.
Try talking to some Department stores in your area and see if they are looking for some novice models for any upcoming fashion shows. Sometimes they like getting the raw talent because they don't have to pay you as much as they would a professional model, but at least you can get a feel for the runway stuff.
I did some modeling for Fashion Bug back when I was working there, so you see some smaller shops don't hire pros. You can also practice in front of a mirror and or friends/family and study the models in ads to get an idea.
Have you ever gone to watch a fashion show at a mall? When they advertise one coming up (no matter what the store) go watch, really watch how they move, show off the features of the clothes, their facial expressions, the attitudes and confidence they show on stage.
If a mistake happens and they slip a little, can they recover with grace and dignity? You need to be able to roll with the punches there. I saw a girl fall on the runway but she got back up and kept walking and put that smile back on like nothing happened. She almost looked like she laughed at herself a bit.
As for your spelling, don't worry, you'll get better besides computers have spell check. But still, even some geniuses from our history were a bit dislexic
As for being anorexic, they are not all looking for that look, in fact the good one are looking for healthy, sporty. Have a healthy diet and a good regular exercise routine, and if you get your body in good proportion and low percentage body fat, not NO %. No starving, besides that wreaks havok on your skin tone. Stay healthy.

are you planing on modleing at age 13? if so theres not much you can do if your mom doesn't want you to. but once you are 18 or not living with her anymore you can make your own decisions.

My point being, whats the rush? you are 13 and you are still very much a child no need to fell like time is running out. calm down.

oh and a 4.0 in middle school, wow, how impressive!!

Take some normal photos of yourself and submit them, along with a written description of yourself (age, hair and eye color, weight, height, measurements), to a reputable model agency like Ford or Elite.

I think you should just ask your mom to take you out to someplace like the shooting range. Shoot clay pidgeons. While she has her back to you while reloading the clay, you blow her head off with a 12 gauge. Claim her death was a "hunting accident". We all know what you were hunting. Then, use the life insurance money to start up your modeling career.

Real advice from Tyra herself
