It may not technically be infidelity but it is certainly a very bad
idea and will probably lead to infidelity...
Falling in love with someone else, even without sex, is also infidelity..

What kind of companionship... Like a friendship. I dont regard friendships as cheating. Me and my husband both have friends of the opposite sex. Some of which are my best friends... So NO... i dont think anything is wrong with this. Its only natural for people to have friends, regardless of their sex.

i believe that an emotional relationship develops that it can be consider cheating. But i don't think that it is cheating for a man or woman to just like to be around the opposite sex. my wife relates better to men than women but she is not cheating on because of this.

seeking out companionship is the same thing as being friends. if they are not doing anything sexual, there should be no problem.

Yes, if it's to substitute or take the place of the spouse. Absolutely. It's a violation of trust.
