The torrential rains caused havoc in the fields. 2) The stench from the open dustbins was aweful.3) his behaviour was irrational

"torrent" - the girl who didn't want to do her homework herself sent a torrent of questions to Yahoo Answers!
"stench" - The teacher who corrected the girl's homework thought she noticed a stench in her nostrils, and realized it was the effect of suspecting the student of cheating.
"irrational" It is irrational to think you can get a good education if you ask others to do your homework for you.
"assuage" The girl who had others do her homework for her assuaged her conscience with the thought that the teacher had no way of finding out.
