Anemomter is used only to measure surface winds. But balloons are released to know the direction and speed of winds at higher levels sometimes upto 30 Kms above ground.Temperature ,pressure, and humidity are also measured at different heights above the earth in addition to the wind, attaching sensors in a transmitter and sending the transmitter tied to the balloon .The signals corresponding to temperature, pressure and humidity are received by a receiver at the observatory and values are evaluted. As the balloons are filled with the light hydrogen gas they are carried away by the wind at a speed equal to the wind speed .(and at the sametime the balloon is continuosly rising due to buoyancy). The position of the balloon is determined every minute by the tracking radar and the wind speed at different height is thus calculated.

Temperature, pressure and humidity are measured in instruments attached to balloons. The value for each reading is transmitted in turn at a different frequency. These are the things the balloon is used to measure.

A barometer measures air rigidity not wind p.c.. Air p.c. is measured in an plane through technique of a pitot tube feeding air right into a vacuum pushed airspeed indicator. There are various measurements for airspeed, i.e. authentic airspeed, relative airspeed, calibrated airspeed, etc. it is critical for a pilot to understand the exterior airspeed and course of the wind so as that he can calculate his p.c. over the gang and degree the quantity of tiers on the compass he's being pushed from the course over the floor he needs to stay with so he can regulate the course he steers to achieve on the precise factor on the great of his flight. Meteorologists degree air p.c. with an anometer. this suggestion is used in predicting how briskly climate structures are shifting over the floor and in which course they are shifting.
