Since Santa doesn't exist he wouldn't have any socks to wear would he?
Nevertheless the concept of a 'Santa Claus' figure goes back about a hundred years and the original Santa's were dressed in green as he was supposed to be a forest dweller. His socks, if he wore any would have been green or black.
In the early 1930's. however, the Coca Cola Company introduced thousands of Santa's all over the world dressed in their corporate colours of red and white and the idea caught on and Santa has been so depicted ever since. His socks would be white.
