Yes muscles will grow and become stronger the more you utilize the use of them if you have been out of the gym or fitness routine for a long time I would recommend a full physical by your Dr. and get some instruction from a trainer at your gym or the one you decide to go to remember take it easy the first few weeks your body is not used to this physical use and you don't want to pull any muscles or damage tissue. Realize that your body will be stiff and sore after the first few workouts as you continue going and your body gets used to the muscles you are using you will become more limber and flexible and your muscles won't ache as much. But really our muscles need this
use or they become very week and are joints and movements become less and less exercise and muscle use also reduces onset of many bone and muscle diseases like arthritis and osteo
so think of starting a routine that works for you.
