Between Yams and Sweet potato or are they the same thing ??? what's better?

yams are Imported from the Caribbean and sweet potatoes are grown in the u.s.
Yams are long and tube like, sweet potatoes are round and fat.
I think yams are a lot better then sweet potatoes.

They are not the same thing but are similar. Many supermarkets generally use the term Yams incorrectly.

They are, in fact, one and the same. There are different strains of yams that might have different flavors and textures but the term is used interchangeably.

good question, i think their the same not sure though. maybe sweet potatos are sweeter. let me know when you find out.
