does anyone know how i can become emancipated?

Im 14 years old and i really cant stand my stepfather no abuse or n e thing i just wanna live on my own.Can u help me learn how to be emancipated in the state of maryland. Thank U

You may end up wishing that you weren't emancipated.

Only one srtate will consider a 14 year old for emancipation: California

All the others are 16 and have thes rules generally:

Criteria for Emancipation
Criteria for determining whether a DECREE declaring emancipation is in the minor's best interest vary among the states. However, certain criteria can commonly be found:

The minors' ability to support themselves financially, either currently or in the future
The minors are currently living apart from their parents or have made adequate arrangements for future housing
The minors can adequately make decisions for themselves
The minors are attending school or have already received a diploma
The minors exhibit sufficient maturity to function as adults

Maryland does have Emancipation! Some states don't, like New Hampshire!

i don't know your situation but i think that would be a mistake on your part, you are very young, but you would have to petition the court for such a thing to take place. if you can't stay with your parents maybe you should try a relative or something.

Get a job and support yourself. Who is supporting you now? I wouldn't expect the evil step-dad to give you much support. You are just another typical teenager who hates a parent. Big deal, you all do and you all survive it. Grow up.
