Oy! you just nicked my next question!!!!!
Well what IS that all about. Recognition that cyber is no longer a mysetrious space carved out in the unknown, but just another society developing from human interaction. And that will inevitably be contaminated with the existing one. Too bad!
thumbs up!

I'd read about that-talk about taking things waaaaaaaay too seriously!! Thing is,on the internet,we're all faceless people-so we don't feel quite so inhibited. So the person who wouldn't say 'Boo!' to a goose (as the saying goes),may well be an aggressive, spiteful person on line-using the internet to let off steam. And then there are those who create false personas-it's a bit of fun and escapism for them. People should just remember-it's just the internet. If a chatroom or forum is causing you so much distress that you feel violent/aggressive,etc.-then just turn the damned thing off!!

Yes i agree it is amazing and sad too
. One of the joys of the Internet, is our ability
of putting our own views forward and say it ,
just as we feel it needs to be said . ,
a few people have such short fuses these days .
And cannot argue coherently or even cope,
with being disagreed with
I / we, feel relatively safe behind our computer screens ,
we Bat our arguments happily too and fro
, because we are not really there / Just a bit remote
Sooner or later some idiot ,
will be challenged ,to this extreme action
Maybe because, she / he can't express,
his / her annoyance any other way , than physical violence
.
LOL! it makes me wonder, some times who,
I may be talking to . It is a harsh world we live in
That news story ,gives me a feeling of unease
Free speech is a gift ,i will NOT give up lightly.

You're more than likely right. One of the problems seems to be 'the inability for people to communicate' - without falling into that childish trap of 'slagging each other off' through the simplicity of name calling and (sorry, but it's very 'American') being as abusive as possible.
it's a position where an individual (and there are lots of these) who are ruled by their emotions - just like the child in the supermarket who 'WANTS' and is refused - and are unable to articulate their feelings. In some respects, they could be said to be 'retarded' or, at least, emotionally dysfunctional ....without the ability to process their emotions and channel them in a way that expresses them selves towards making statements in an attempt to diffuse and resolve matters.
They seem to demand the right to settle matters - BUT -without the responsibility of the results ....again, it's very child-like.
